take40.com spoke exclusively to N.E.R.D in London last week about their new album Seeing Sounds and got the inside scoop on their next single the follow-up to the party anthem Everybody Nose.
The second single, originally titled Spaz, but which is now being renamed by the sensitive - and socially conscious trio, determined to keep the party going, without offending anyone in the process.
Well, with respect to proper English, spaz is slang for the word spastic, Pharrell explained. ...were changing the title of the song to Im Right Here, and the word spaz will be reversed so it wont be in the song. Were talking about renaming the song, just out of respect.
A lot of people love the song - the kids love it, and it hasnt stopped our sales, but once it was brought to our attention we didnt want to offend anyone.
Pharrell also told us that footage of recent live shows in the US and the UK and will be utilized for the Im Right Here video. You heard it FIRST on take40.com.
